Summer Season Odds ‘n’ Ends

Posted by on 2 in Neighborhood News

Welcome back to Macatawa, where the breezes are mild (soon!) and the sun always shines (soon!) and the beach goes on forever (one of these years!).

Some items to remember and learn as you dream of the summer ahead:

  1.  Contractors’ code to enter gates changes 8am Tuesday May 28, the day after Memorial Day.  This new 2019 code was included in your dues notice which you received last month. Give this contractors’ PIN code to your renters, plumbers, babysitters, friends and anyone else who visits.  Your remote with your personal PIN code remains the same–DO NOT give this PIN code out; this is what helps to keep our Park as secure as possible.
  2. The gatehouse has been open weekends during May.  Beginning this coming Memorial Weekend the gatehouse will be staffed daily.  Some new staff, some you will know from last year.  Terry VandenBerg has been working as manager since September, and this will be his first summer, so get to know one another!
  3. Mark your calendars:  Macatawa Weekend, August 2, 3, 4.  Fun for kids & adults.  Still looking for volunteers.
  4. Please give your renters our Macatawa rules about the beach, trash, parking, noise, dogs, neighborliness.  Let’s make our brief summers work for everyone.
  5. Trash:  please put all trash in bags which then go in barrels.  Trash collectors will not pick up trash that is loose.   Occasionally there are hiccups in collection anyhow (!), so don’t make it your fault. No yard trash.  Collection:  Tuesdays & Fridays after Memorial Day until Labor Day.  Yellow recycling bags are available at the gatehouse or at Republic offices on Graafschap Road, Holland.
  6. Golf carts:  please take care, go slow, summer is busy and the livin’ is easy.  There is no room for parking at or on the beach.
  7. Driving cars:  also take care and slow down inside & just outside Mac, whether up the hills or on the flats.  The journey is also the destination.
  8. For Central/North Beach:  sidewalks are only for pedestrians now…..
